a) What are the punishments for using copyrighted material without publishing it or getting permission from the original owner?
b) Is copyright and trademarking the same thing?
2) Answers:
a) The violater of the copyright material can pay from $200 to $150,000 for each work and also pays the amount of profit made and damages. They must also pay for all attorneys fees and court costs. Lastly the person may also go to jail.
b) No, copyrights and trademarking are not the same but are similar. Copyright protects work of owner like music, plays, photos and movies while trademarking identifies/distinguishes the source of the holder like a word, phrase or symbol.
3) What is a Creative Commons License and why is it important?
A Creative Commons License is a copyright license that allows the use of copyrighted work. This is important because it can help share work created by those and can also be used by others to add to the original.
These two pictures represent what i may use in my book trailer because they were taken in the same time period that the book takes place in and also both showcase American World War II bombers which symbolizes a part of the story with the characters.

Wow, the pictures you picked are very cool! I think there may be something wrong with your spacing in the first paragraphs, you might want to check that out.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Your citations are pretty good as well. I would put the date 28 Feb. 2012 after the publisher where you have n.d. I'd move the date on the second citation as well. See the sample format below.

Could you please try to rename your blog? Maybe to Digital Citizenship: My Thoughts or something that encompasses more than Topic 1. If you have trouble ask David.
ReplyDeleteI really like the pictures you used but I wish you used a couple pictures that were not so similar, other than that it looks really good
ReplyDeletegood layout and citations, thats important.
ReplyDeleteI like how you included the questions into your post so the reader wouldn't have to guess what you're responding too. I also noticed that there is a weird space between also and pays in 2.) a.) though.
